The Benefits of Our Beef

If we have a sick animal, it of course receives all the proper medical attention it needs.  If antibiotics are prescribed by the vet we simply do not market that animal through our Grass Fed program.  (Animals that have needed treatment go to other markets.)


We never use growth hormones.  Mother Nature provides enough!


Grass Fed Beef production allows the bacteria in the cow’s rumen to convert naturally occurring compounds in the forage diet to CLA, conjugated linoleic acid, which we now know is a powerful anti-carcinogen.  Also, the fatty acids in the meat are high in omega three and provide the correct ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 of 1: 2 and 2:3.


All beef is a great source of vitamin A and E, but Grass Fed beef excels at this job.


According to the research Grass Fed Beef is:


  • Two to four times richer in heart healthy omega three acids

  • Higher in “good” unsaturated fats and lower in “bad” saturated fats

  • Three to five times higher in CLA – conjugated linoleum acid content

  • Loaded with over 400% more of vitamin A and vitamin E


One additional benefit we are seeing through our customers is that the Grass Fed option has proven to be healthier for them when they have a problem with gluten.  With the rise of Celiac disease and gluten intolerance and sensitivity, many people have had to cut out beef that has been grain fed.  They have reported to us that it really does make a difference.  We have several celiac customers that report Grass Fed beef to be a safe and delicious option for them.  This gives us even greater confidence in both raising and selling our beef to our customers.  (Note: Customers with severe conditions should only try new foods under supervision.)
